Install the Kinect for Windows Runtime before plugging in your Kinect device. Click here to get the runtime.

Plug the Kinect for Windows device into an external power supply.

Plug the Kinect device into your PC's USB port and wait for Windows to detect the device and install the drivers.

If the driver is installed correctly you should see a green blinking LED on the Kinect sensor.

Start nsquared spydar. you will be asked for a folder in which to store the videos created by nsquared spydar. Make sure you use a folder that exists on your computer. You should see the spydar displayed in the bottom right of your screen.

When nsquared spydar detects a person in front of the Kinect it will record a video of them and save it to your folder.
